Year 5 – Shakespeare

This term Year 5 took part in an exciting Shakespeare workshop, where they stepped into the world of Hamlet. The children explored key scenes from the play, bringing the characters to life through lively reenactments and creative performances. They worked together to understand the themes, language, and emotions of Shakespeare’s writing, discovering how timeless and dramatic his stories remain.

Nursery – Fine motor skills

This term in Nursery we have been working on our fine motor skills. We need to strengthen our finger muscles ready for writing. We use pen disco to help us do this in a fun way. We copy the demonstration on how to hold our pencil and make the motions. It supports us developing these tricky motions such as zigzags, waves, circles and other shapes. Whilst we practise our writing, we chat and celebrate our beautiful pieces of work. We often capture the moment and display them in our writing area.

Lucie – "I like pen disco, its music and writing."

Dimitri –  "I like dancing and writing."

Maisie –  "I like the wave songs, it’s fun."

A message from the Headteacher

Dear families and children,

You may recall that I wrote to you a little while ago to say that we had been successful in acquiring a grant for fully funded solar panels and their installation. There was a delay in the contractors coming to fit  the panels, but this week you may have noticed the scaffolding on the roof and the machinery in the staff car park this week. It was our new solar panels being fitted to the roof. The work is almost complete, and we would like to extend our thanks to the contractors who have worked hard to complete the project. In addition to our Air Source pumps which provide 'green' heating, the solar panels will enable us to decrease our carbon footprint even further. We are confident that we will not need all the electricity converted by the solar panels and the excess will be sold to the Grid. Any funds raised will be used to support our children's education.

A very big thank you to everyone that came to parents' evening and for your very kind comments in person and on the questionnaires. They mean a lot to the whole teaching team. We will collate the responses and use them to help us maintain all the positive aspects of our school and to continue to grow.

Have a lovely weekend, and we are looking forward to seeing you again on Monday.
