Year 3 Science
This half-term, Year 3 have been learning about ‘Animals Including Humans.’ This week we became osteologists- scientists who study the structure and function of bones! We explored how our skeletons help us move and protect our bodies. As part of our learning, we carried out an interesting experiment to answer the question: Do taller people jump further?
The children measured, observed and compared results and developed their scientific skills while learning more about how our amazing bodies work. Following our investigation and our findings we concluded that our height does not determine how far we can jump, as some smaller children were able to jump further than those who were taller! Paul- “I predicted that I would jump further than the tallest person in my group!” Abdul- “I can’t believe I jumped the furthest when I am the smallest!”
