Year 3 - DT
In Design and Technology this half term, Year 3 are exploring how to create engaging and functional pop-up books for a specific audience. As part of their learning, the children investigated a range of materials, including paper, card, cardboard and tissue paper. They used a table to test and compare each material’s strength, flexibility and how easily it could be joined. This hands-on approach helped them think carefully about which materials would be most suitable. After experimenting and discussing their results, the class decided that card is the best choice, as it is strong, flexible, easy to join and can be decorated creatively. The children are excited to use these skills when they design and make their own pop-up books at the end of the topic.
