Nursery
This week in Nursery we have started our new focus text ‘Dear Mother Goose’. Each week we get to explore an exciting, familiar nursery rhyme. This week it was ‘Humpty Dumpty’, we decided to make a paper-mache egg using a range of materials. The process of creating the paper-mache egg was a wonderful learning experience as we could see how the materials had to transition from wet to dry before we could paint it. We enjoyed putting the tissue paper and glue onto the balloon and used lots of new vocabulary whilst doing so. We have enjoyed many role play experiences such as dressing up as police officers and carrying out investigations with clipboards and magnifying glasses. We had lots of fun building our own wall in the maths area using wooden blocks whilst singing the Humpty Dumpty song. We are excited to see what nursery rhyme comes next.
Jason - ‘This is my wall, he’s going to fall off’
Thea - ‘It has to dry first, it’s too wet’
Maisie - ‘The sunshine will dry our egg, then we can paint it’
