Year 4 – Celebrating different cultures and diversity: Arabian Tent

Last Thursday, Year 4 took part in a fantastic Arabic workshop, where the children immersed themselves in Arabic culture through a range of exciting hands-on experiences. They explored traditional music and storytelling, listened to the sounds of the Arabic alphabet, and even stepped inside an authentic Arabic tent. The children also enjoyed making and tasting Arabic tea alongside delicious biscuits. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about a different culture in an engaging and memorable way and Year 4 showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Pupil voice:

“We have learned how to say the names of the animals in Arabic.” Erikas

“We have also learned how to write the Arabic letters.” Ella S

“We tried Arabic cookies and tea. I liked the taste of the cookies. We could smell mint and herbs aromas that the tea was made from.” Billy

“We listened to and played different Arabic instruments. I played an instrument that looked and sounded like a guitar. It was fun!” Abdalla

Year 6 – Science

In Year 6, we have been learning about the circulatory system. We have learned how to recognise the key parts of a heart and can explain their functions. We have carried out experiments to find out which activities raise our pulse rates the most and compared our findings to our predictions. This week, we made posters to inform people how they can look after their hearts. We are looking forward to dissecting a lamb’s heart after half term!

‘I’m excited to dissect a lamb’s heart and identify the key parts that we have learned about.’ – Madison

‘I enjoy learning about the heart because it’s interesting to find out what happens inside our body every day.’ – Anthonia
