Out of the Blue Art Club

Every Thursday, some Year 4 and 5 children attend Out of the Blue Art Club – an after-school art club run by the Bluecoat. So far this half-term, the children have made their own art piece using paper weaving, used stamps and printing blocks to create their own headlines and even designed some badges for Santa’s space suit! During the past two weeks, the children have been designing and making masks inspired by Lewis Prosser – a French absurdist.

"I love that we get to use fun things like watercolours nearly every week. It is also nice that we get to see everyone else’s work at the end, and they get to share the reasons behind the art they have created." – Ariana

"I like it because we get to do so many different projects, and we can be really creative. It is also a calming way to end the day."–Abigail

Reception – Nativity

Our Reception children performed their Nativity this week and they were absolutely amazing. Their singing, confidence and acting made us all so proud. Thank you to all families for helping with practising at home.

“I liked being on the stage, it was fun!” Noah (The Big Star!)

“I loved being a star and singing for all the grown-ups.” Malaz

“I thought the stage was cool.” James.

Reindeer and Santa Visit

On Thursday, we were very excited to welcome some special visitors – reindeer! The children were thrilled to meet them and thoroughly enjoyed learning all about their lives and how they are cared for. They listened carefully and asked lots of sensible, thoughtful questions to the people who look after the reindeer, showing great curiosity and enthusiasm. It was a wonderful experience that sparked interest, learning and excitement across the school and one the children will remember for a long time.  Santa also made a surprise visit and gave every child a selection box for being so good!!

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year from everyone in Four Oaks

We look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 5th January.
