Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child’s kit is in for these days.
Spellings will be handed out every Friday and tested the following Friday.
Our children will have swimming after February half term. Please equip your child with a towel, costume, swimming hat (for long hair) and goggles if they choose to wear them.
Science- Our Senses
We have been working scientifically in our Science lessons. We carried out an experiment to see why some people on the yard might not hear if the teacher blows a whistle. We found out that the further away you are from the sound of the whistle the quieter the whistle sounds. We have also been working scientifically using our noses to smell, our eyes to see and our mouths to taste. We sorted different food into food that is sweet, sour, bitter salty and bland.
We have been designing our own healthy yogurt pots during our D.T lessons. First, we tasted some fruit and decided which fruit we liked the best. Then, we practiced our chopping, slicing and peeling skills and made a delicious fruit kebab. After that, we made our delicious healthy yogurt pots. We enjoyed eating them a lot! Finally, we evaluated our work and thought about how we could make them even better.
Chinese New Year.
For Chinese New year we read and followed instructions on how to make Chinese opera masks and Chinese lanterns. We had a great time!
The children in LRB 1 had a great time making pyramids in the architecture workshop.
Life under the sea
As part of our work in Science, LRB1 have been learning all about different animals. We went to the aquarium at Liverpool World Museum and learnt all about different sea creatures. We learnt about their habitat, how they move and what they eat. We were able to sort the sea creatures by how they move and we also got to touch them!
PE lessons in LRB1 are quite fun and the children seem to enjoy them as you can see from the pictures below:
As part of our work in R.E., L.R.B. 1 have been learning about Christingle.
